Bronwen

I am a ceramicist making stoneware and porcelain pieces for the home, with a strong focus on form and texture. Rooted in the aesthetic of minimalism, my practice is guided by the beauty of exposed clay, which lies at the core of my work.

Each piece is wheel-thrown and then altered, allowing the form to evolve through a process of reshaping and refinement. The distinct qualities of different clay bodies provide a canvas for restrained surface treatments, including faceting, carving, engraving, and slip work. Carefully considered details create subtle contrasts, bringing tension and balance to each object: the softness of a curve against the precision of a facet, the counterpoint of a hoop, or the sense of movement introduced by a swivel. These elements quietly shape the finished form.

Following on from these traditions, I seek to create work that conveys softness and balance, pairing simplicity with thoughtful attention to detail. My intention is to create objects that feel both deliberate and approachable.

All pieces are handcrafted in small batches in my studio in Montreuil.
