ABOUT ME
I am a part-British, part-French potter living and working in Montreuil, France.
I came to ceramics in my late 30s and was instantly captivated by the tactile pleasure of working with raw clay, the endless creative possibilities it offers, and the satisfaction of crafting pieces that fit seamlessly into our daily lives.
My work focuses on functional ware, discreet companions to daily life that are always designed for utility, but never without a touch of whimsy.
Each piece begins on the wheel before being assembled, carved, and reshaped by hand. I have a particular affinity for raw clay, especially when it reveals texture and surface detail or catches light. The dialogue between the softness of a curve and a sharp facet often guides the forms I create.
My work
“Ceramics and plants are a perfect pairing, each enhancing the beauty of the other. I find myself repeatedly drawn to making vessels for plants, and they naturally account for most of my practice.”
My aesthetic relies on textures, shapes, and contrast, partly because I am drawn to the subtle beauty of these techniques but also because I am committed to restricting the use of toxic or polluting products.
